Billy has a bit of past trauma which will keep him with the ladies instead of finding some random other kid.

There's a lot of this comic property that deals with figuring out your life when things haven't gone the way you thought they would... so Billy being tossed aside and no longer having a kid to go on adventures with-- we'll see how he progresses having to maneuver this new stage in his "life".
